Itchy Fingers gallery remake

The owner of http://itchy-fingers.co.uk has asked me to redesign her gallery section to make it more user friendly and easier to navigate. This does however mean a fair bit of work on it, but fear not for I has a shiny plan~

Seems my flash coding skills aren't are shiny as I thought, I've spent the better part of the night trying to fix a coding glitch. Don't get me wrong the website works, it got a nasty little bug that when you're waiting for the projects to load and you click on any of the links, the website starts mass playing everything, completely ignoring the stop commands (tis rather rude) so if anyone's experienced this problem before and has managed to fix it please give me a buzz and tell me why its doing it~

Other then that, still job hunting, though I'm back in Carlisle now as I had a meeting with a client

Long time no see

Yet, its definitely been a while since I last posted here, probably because i've been spending most the time working on my uni stuff and then working on my website, Which is now complete~!

So the big news is that I have another version of Design and Conquer up and running.
And dare I say it, I think I'm happy with this version, at least until I learn something else new and shiny I can do with flash, then it'll be changed yet again.

When I'm not job hunting I'm working on the Haven website for Paul Taylor, which is coming along nicely.

We were taught how to making a scrolling image bar in flash, I wanted to adapt it so it would move an object around a page (so not just left or right, but up and down as well) so after a good hour of playing around in the coding I managed to create this first attempt~!

Its far from what I want however, its the first step towards it =D

I got my webcam working

Yeys its ma birthday?! a good 8 months early?

Soooo I got a birthday present from my dutch friend Jeroen today.... Look at that wrapping, this man knows me too well ! Pink with toy boats and teddy bears?! mans got style ! (not to mention a large supply of sellotape... I have to fight my way into that present xD!)



He also wrote a very poetic birthday postcard~! ahem;

"Greetings from Leeuwarden and happy belate birthday + christmas stuff! Enjoy and I want to see some Mad Max action when I come over =D - love, Lord of your Demise"

Dissertation Distractions? Yes plx

Its just goes on and on and on, you think you've written a good 1000 words but the word count only says 462, maybe its not counting the spaces, or its lying to me, either way i just want it to be over so I can hand it in and be done with it ! I wanna go play in flash and make pretty things and move and shine and do shiny stuff when you click on them!

Essay Status:
01. Introduction - First draft done, needs looking over
02. What are comics books - Currently writing, 2 more sections then its a first draft (but I'm happy with it)
03. History of comics films - First draft done, I think I need link it to the next chapter
04. Re-emergence of comic films - First draft done, link it back to the last section
05. Reasons why they're becoming popular - First draft needs to be done, 3-4 sections to complete
06. Case study - Need to compare the two films and add my questionnaire results into it
07. Summary - need to start

So a fair bit to do, but at the same time i'm almost at the stage where I have a complete first draft, I just need to stop procrastinationing.... I blame her

Well today I had my first proper flash lessons and it was oh so fun, so much so I thought I'd go home and try out some of the things I learnt and how they could be applied. So this lil bit does has buttons on it, but well, I kind forgot the action code I needed and where I needed to put it... -coughs-

New Website Evil Essay

Thats right folks a new website is underway and nearing completion, just got to find some free time to photograph my work and then upload it all.




Which brings me to the second part of this post... my Extended essay.... oh the woo's. Don't get me wrong I have an awesome essay subject, "The reasons behind why graphic novels are becoming films" the problem is writing the damn thing... I did always wonder why they get us to start our final major project the same time our Extended Essay needs to be written.

Maybe Batman will save me...

Well that was America

Sooooooo~~ I spent Christmas and new year over in America. And it was awesome ! I did so much whilst I was over there, lets see, I went to Elizabeth town, Louville, Radclift, Ohio and Cincinnati.

However~! I wont bore you with a long post about it, instead it will be an up and coming project. I took a video camera with me and filmed everywhere i went (well when i remembered to take my camera) I'll get around to editing all the clips together into some form of a movie so you can see
